Blueberry Rahi produces firm berries with a light blue hue and exceptional fruit quality. Its flowers are white with a hint of pink, while the autumn foliage showcases a stunning display of burgundy wine colors. 

This variety is well-suited for all regions of New Zealand, including the North Auckland Region. Rahi has a strong, upright growth habit, making it ideal for both garden planting and container gardening. While the berries can be prone to splitting after heavy rain, Blueberry Rahi is self-fertile, meaning it doesn’t require other blueberries for pollination. However, planting alongside varieties like Blueberry Blue Dawn™, Tasty Blue™, Maru, or Powder Blue can enhance fruit volume.

Like all blueberries, Rahi offers numerous health benefits, including support for mental health, heart health, bone strength, skin health, blood pressure regulation, and cancer prevention, among others.
Rahi berries ripen in February, and leaving them on the plant for an additional 5-7 days after they turn blue can enhance their flavor. Plant in full sun, although it can tolerate some afternoon shade. Be sure to remove dead, diseased, or weak wood, and after 4-5 years, prune old branches from the crown to promote vigorous new growth.
